International Student Admission Procedures

1-APPLICATION FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND ASSOCIATE DEGREES

1.1. WHO CAN APPLY? 

Applicants must be registered in the final year of high school or graduated during the application period. Diplomas issued by high schools studied abroad are required to be equivalent to diplomas issued by Turkish high schools. In terms of the 2022-2023 academic year, the applicants who meet any of the following can apply to the category that is appropriate to their status within the possibility of EBYU’s associate and undergraduate degree international student quota.

Provided that they are in the final year of high school or being graduated,

  1. those who are foreign nationals,
  2. those who have refugee status,
  3. those who are stateless,
  4. those who certify having a blue card,
  5. those who take Turkish Republic (TR) citizenship with the right of acquired citizenship despite being originally foreign national/those who have dual nationality with this status.
  6. Turkish students who have completed the last three years of secondary education in a foreign country except from TRNC continuing secondary education (high school) abroad before 01/02/2013 (including those who have completed their secondary education in Turkish schools opened in the presence of the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) in a foreign country other than TRNC.)
  7. those who started secondary education abroad after 01/02/2013 and completed all their secondary education in a foreign country except TRNC (including those who have completed their secondary education in Turkish schools opened in the presence of MoNE in a foreign country other than TRNC),
  8. who are citizens of TRNC and residents in TRNC and have completed their secondary education in TRNC, have a Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE-AL) certificate and will have a GCE-AL certificate registering in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005 and 2010

1.2. WHO CAN NOT APPLY? 

Those who meet any of the following conditions cannot apply to the international student admission quota.

  1. Turkish citizens who have completed their whole secondary education in Turkey or TRNC,
  2. TRNC citizens (except those who have completed their secondary education in TRNC high schools and have GCE-AL results, and who have or will have a GCE-AL certificate registering and studying at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010),
  3. Dual citizens who are among those who are mentioned to be able to apply above and who are TR citizens by birth (excluding those mentioned in e and f articles under “Who Can Apply” above),
  4. Dual citizens, one of which is TRNC (except those who have completed their secondary education in TRNC high schools and have GCE-AL certificate, and who have or will have GCE-AL certificate registering and studying at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010)
  5. Dual citizens, whose first nationality is TR by birth, receive their education in foreign high schools in Turkey and schools within the body of the embassies in Turkey

 

2. APPLICATION FOR GRADUATE DEGREES

2.1. WHO CAN APPLY?

International students who will apply to graduate programs must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree from domestic or foreign faculties or colleges whose equivalence is accepted by YÖK.

  1. Those who are foreign nationals by birth,
  2. Those with refugee status,
  3. Stateless,
  4. Those who certify that they have a Blue Card,
  5. While he was a foreign national by birth, he became a citizen of the Republic of Turkey with the citizenship acquired afterward. naturalized / dual nationals in this situation,
  6. Provided that it is documented, TR and TRNC nationals having completed the undergraduate education abroad with face-to-face education, can apply.

2.2. WHO CAN NOT APPLY? 

Citizens of the Republic of Turkey (TR) or TRNC who have completed their undergraduate education in Turkey cannot apply.

  1. The fact that the candidates bring documents stating that they are citizens of the Republic of Turkey or that they are of Turkish descent after being accepted to the University does not change their status at the time of admission. Students are treated as International Students in all respects until they graduate.
  2. Foreign national candidates who will apply can apply with the school recognition certificate they will obtain from the Council of Higher Education. But TR National candidates must submit the diploma equivalency certificate to the relevant institute until they graduate.
