    1. What is the language of instruction at your university?
      The language of instruction at our university is Turkish.
    2. When are the application deadlines for International Student quotas and tuition fees?
      Application dates are announced on the websites of our University (www.ebyu.edu.tr) and international link. It will be beneficial for you to follow our sites regularly.
    3. What is YÖS (Foreign Student Exam)?
      The Foreign Student Examination (YÖS) is an exam that international students who want to study in higher education institutions in Turkey can take and use their results when applying for admission to these institutions.
    4. When is the Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University International Student Selection Exam (EBYUYOS) held?
      Our University’s International Student Selection Examination (EBYUYOS) is held every year.
      The date of EBYUYOS is determined by the EBYU Rectorate. It is also announced on the website of the university (www.ebyu.edu.tr/international/). However, our University will not make the YÖS- exam in 2022.
    5. Does Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University provide support for international students’ visa procedures?
      Yes. The International Student Office issues a letter of acceptance for the students entitled to enroll in our university. An “ACCEPTANCE LETTER” is sent to the e-mail address specified during the application to obtain a student visa.
    6. When and how are final registrations made to your University?
      Final registration dates are stated in the academic calendar, and registration is done via the International Student Office and the Registrar’s Office. Registration dates and registration documents can be found on the website of our University (www.ebyu.edu.tr/international/).
    7. What is the Turkish Proficiency Exam?
      Among the candidates who have the right to enroll in our university, those who do not have a Turkish proficiency certificate, except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in Turkey, have to take the Turkish proficiency exam (in September) held by the Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Turkish Teaching Application and Research (ERZINCAN-TOMER). The result of the Turkish Proficiency Exam is determined as successful or unsuccessful. Successful candidates start their education.
    8. Can you give us more information about Erzincan TOMER?
      Erzincan TOMER has been training hundreds of trainees since its establishment in 2011 and has made them ready to receive a university education. With its experienced academic staff, it has been engaged in Turkish as a foreign language education activity for students, educators, academicians, diplomats, business people, and immigrants of international status face-to-face or online for 11 years.     9. What is the course content of the Turkish Preparatory Course?
      The Turkish Preparatory Course at Erzincan TOMER has been prepared in accordance with the Common European Common Language Framework. The weekly class hours are 25 to 30 in Erzincan TÖMER.
      Four language skills are based on the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language. It is aimed at gaining Reading-Comprehension, Writing, Listening and Speaking skills.
      The Turkish Preparatory Course consists of A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1 classes. The duration of each level can be 175 or 210 hours, that is, 1 course can last 6 or 8 weeks. In order to determine the needs analysis of each trainee, the Level Determination Exam is held before the start of the course. According to the result of this exam, the trainee is placed in one of the appropriate levels of the above. For the opening of a new class, there must be an application for a person of 20 people. This course can be opened at any time during the year, at the request of trainees, if there are enough trainee applications. Level Jumping Exam is held at the end of each level. The Level Jumping Exam has evaluated over 100 points and consists of 5 parts: Reading-Understanding I, Reading-Understanding II, Writing, Listening, and Speaking parts. Each section is worth 20 points. The trainee who succeeds in this exam by 60% (12 points) from each department starts at the next level.
    10. The duration of the Turkish Language Teaching (TOMER) Program?
      Candidates who fail the Turkish Proficiency Exam begin to study Turkish at Erzincan TOMER and are expected to be successful within one year.
    11. What should be done after being successful in the Turkish Language Teaching (TOMER) Program?
      The students are required to submit their Turkish language proficiency documents to the Registrar’s Office before the course registration dates specified in the academic calendar.
    12. How much money does the Turkish Preparatory Course cost?
      The current Turkish Preparatory Course costs 600 for each level and 3000 Turkish Lira in total.  The current Turkish Language Proficiency Exam is 300 Turkish Lira. These fees will be updated in September 2022. 1. It is planned that the fee for each level of the Turkish Preparatory Course will be 1500 or 1750 Turkish Lira, and in total it will be 7500 or 8750 Turkish Lira. Paid Turkish Preparatory Course fee can be paid in advance or in 2 installments. 2. The fee for the Turkish Language Proficiency Exam is planned to be 500 Turkish Lira. 3. A credit card will be valid for payments.
    13. How can I get my student certificate?
      After the registration process, the student can get the student certificate from International Student Affairs Office.
    14. How can I benefit from health services during my education?
      Our international students are admitted to our University for the first time without requiring a 1-year residency requirement. They can become general health insurance holders, provided that they apply within three months from their application.
    15. How can students who come within the framework of the international student quota meet their accommodation needs?
      Students will meet their own accommodation needs and stay in the state dormitories within the Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University campus.
    16. Do I need a high school equivalency document for BA programs?
      Yes, you need to provide the document after your registration, when you start your education in Erzincan within 3 months.
    17. What does high school equivalency mean?
      High school equivalency means a statement made by the Ministry of Education or an equivalent institution of another state that the owner has achieved the equivalent of high school education measured in points (Transcript).
    18. How can I get a high school equivalency certificate?
      To get the high school equivalency certificate, the student must make an appointment with the Ministry of National Education – e-Equivalency (https://edenklik.meb.gov.tr/) and click on the “Online Application” option to start the registration process.
      The student must fill out the forms as PDF with the original documents.
    19. What if I can’t bring an equivalence certificate?
      An equivalency certificate is a certificate that newly registered international students must obtain according to YÖK rules. You must bring it at the latest 90 days after registration. If you can’t bring it within this time, your OBS will be locked, you will not be able to get a student certificate, and even your registration may be deleted.
    20. To whom can I solve the problems that I will encounter during my education?
      You can solve the problems related to your education that you may encounter during your education life with the International Student Office, the Registrar’s Office, your school’s student affairs units, your advisors, and your student representative.
    21. How can I get the tuition fee back after registration?
      Please note that the tuition fee is not refundable under any circumstances and cannot be transferred to another name.
    22. What is a residence permit?
      A student Residence Permit gives you the right to stay in Turkey during your study period. According to the Law on Foreigners and International Protection, students enrolled in an academic program in Turkey for three months or longer are obliged to obtain a student residence permit. Regardless of their status, all international students are required to apply for a student residence permit within one month of their arrival in Turkey.
    23. What are the documents required for a residence permit?
      • Apply for a student residence permit online (at https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/) and make an appointment.

      • Payment Receipt: 160 TL to any Tax Office in Turkey or in person.
      • A copy of Your Passport Information Page and Last Entry Stamp Page

    24. How long does it take to get a residence permit card?
      According to Turkish Government regulations, it will take up to 90 working days.
    25. What should I do after obtaining a residence permit?
      You must inform the student affairs unit of the 99 number given to you.
    26. How do I know my undergraduate or graduate advisor?
      Each student can know their advisor from the Advisor Information in the OBS system.
